It's that time...
The grueling 4 am wake-up call to catch your flight at the local airport for cheap tickets you found nearly 5 weeks prior. The first sip of gas station coffee while massaging your kinked back muscles from last night's rough sleepover in the Cracker Barrell parking lot on a road trip with your cousin. Or the smell of salty seaweed from the Pacific's coastal dunes, a sensory unfamiliar with the desert winds.
Summer is the best season. Even if you prefer the chilly nights by a fire during the après-ski season, every person has a favorite memory from the hot summer nights. Whether sandwiched between the 4th of July holiday and midnight premieres of Harry Potter during the 5th grade or last year as an adult during a long shift at work — summer always means something to people.
It's an excuse to take a vacation or long weekend from the grind. The weather is warm and crisp, and fresh. My introverted friends always seem to come out of their shell for an extra hang, and dear god, an ice-cold beer taste even better by Canyon Lake.
And there's no better memory keepsake than a good photo, right? While I'm all for expensive point-and-shoots to post on the 'gram or the hefty $5K camera bodies to capture the Italian Apls with clarity — my iPhone is just enough. I've been a working professional in the camera industry and a freelance photographer for over a decade, and I still rely on my trusty Apple device to do the dirty work. It's quick, easy, and the camera on these things just keeps getting better and better.
Grab a cup of joe and scroll through some fun images to get you in the summer mood. We'll pretend it's Tumblr in 2012, where the algorithm wasn't as creepily personal as it is today, and bask in curated #shotoniphone glory from some pals.
